* We offer a forty-two day (six week) recovery program for substance dependent, adult males; however, an eighty-four day program may be offered once the client has entered  

* Our residential capacity is twenty clients 

* Surfside Recovery House is staffed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Administration staff is available from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to help answer all questions about Surfside  Recovery House and it’s entry procedures. A full-time night man and weekend person enable the client to feel safe while keeping a structured program environment during ‘quiet time’

* Both Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings are attended regularly by our clients at night in the community  

* Our counselors facilitate the program in a classroom style setting daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. The program consists of: lectures, video/audio presentations, group & individual counseling, and peer assessments  

* A weekly intensive Relapse Prevention program is facilitated for our clients  

* We also have a means of testing for suspected substance misuse. At present, we use a test kit which allows us to have results in approx. three minutes. Testing is done at random, or if a staff member suspects that drugs and/or alcohol have been used. Positive testing results in IMMEDIATE dismissal  

* Our non-profit organization relies heavily on volunteers generously donating their time to help out. Most of these volunteers are past clients, and thus, give encouragement and support to those still going through our program  

* Our ‘Alumni’ hold a weekly meeting for our ‘in-program’ clients, giving hope and encouragement to those still learning. We gratefully acknowledge our Alumni’s contribution to our program and wish to  express gratitude, on behalf of the in-house clients, to the Alumni for all their assistance, sharing, and support

* We offer clean, double occupancy rooms with close proximity to recreational areas and easy access to public transportation
